I really love all the rainbow manicures that are out now, so I wanted to try it myself.
First I painted on French Quarter For Your Thoughts, then started dotting away! I kept my friend Roy G. Biv in mind while dotting, so here are the colors I used in order: China Glaze Hey Sailor, OPI Red Lights Ahead, Where? OPI on Collins Ave, China Glaze Papaya Punch, China Glaze Happy Go Lucky, Sally Hansen Lickety-Split Lime, China Glaze Gaga for Green, Barry M Cyan, Sally Hansen Fairy Teal, SpaRitual Undercurrent, and last but not least, SpaRitual Heliotrope!
Whooo! That was a handful! What do you think of the doticure??
Happy Memorial Day to all my US followers, and to everyone else, have a happy Monday!
I wanted to do a manicure relating to Memorial day, as I’ve got quite a few members of my family who were in the service, and my husband, who still is. I would like to take some time out and thank you (or yours) for service, because I know that in no way could I do that.
Now, on to the fun stuff!! The red is China Glaze Hey Sailor, and the accent nail is Sinful Colors Blue by You. The tips are OPI Pirouette My Whistle, L.A. Girl Celebrate, and one star pulled from a new bottle of Wet n Wild’s Stars and Stripes.
Before I get into it, I would like to start off by dedicating this to Flora (hi Flora!!) who encouraged me to keep up the nerdfight, so without further ado, I ain’t afraid of no ghost.
I’d been sitting on a Ghostbusters mani for a while, I knew I wanted to incorporate slime into somehow but I couldn’t think of a proper way. Then while shopping at Jo-Ann I came across some old school neon green puffy paint (remember that stuff?), and I knew I had to try it.
The puffy paint is so neon that my camera freaked out every time I focused on it, but this is so much brighter in person. The rest of the mani is all China Glaze, Liquid Leather, White on White, and Hey Sailor.
Whoo, I don’t know how I can go on now after those amazing flakies, but I must. I just wanted to give up and keep the back on!
Today is a full China Glaze manicure, and I like it so much. The base is Hey Sailor, a beautiful bright pin up red. So perfect, my favorite red. Then I have layered Blonde Bombshell, Twinkle Lights and Ring in the Red for another (another?!) glitter gradient.
Twinkle Lights is small red, green and gold glitter suspended in a clear base, and Blonde Bombshell is a yellowy gold glitter polish with three different kinds of glitter (bar, micro glitters and larger round yellow glitters) suspended in a clear base.
Today I decided on a low key French mani, but with a twist; using China Glaze’s Hey Sailor and First Mate for the tips. I still think that whole collection was just perfect, all those gorgeous cremes and shimmers. This is one coat of each, and a top of Seche Vite.
My apologize for not uploading anything in a while, I’ve been fighting some awful summer cold and I just couldn’t focus enough on my nails.
Here I attempted to do the amazing Nailside’s double lightning bolt tutorial. When I first laid eyes on her creation I knew it would be a perfect superhero mani, so I tried to do a Captain America inspired one. As you can see, I probably need to work harder. Ha. The thumb looks really good, the rest? Not so much.
I used China Glaze Hey Sailor for the red, OPI’s Ogre-the-Top Blue, and Revlon’s Silver Dollar for the silver. Any tips on this mani for future use?
Today’s polish is one of my new ones from ULTA, it’s China Glaze from the new Anchors Away collection called Hey Sailor!
Oh China Glaze, I love you so.
This polish has got to be one of my top 5 colors. It is the ultimate red for me. It’s a delicious red creme that was opaque for me after the first coat. (This is actually 4 coats, plus a layer of Seche Viet to top it off.)
Also- sad day- I broke the nail on my ring finger pumping up my bike tire! (Woe is me! I know.) I was planning on trimming up the other later on, but I just can’t bring myself to actually cut them yet. My preciousssssssesss!!!
